Dr. Celenza is unique in his qualifications in that he is a dual-certified specialist and is active in both the practice and teaching of periodontics and orthodontics. He received his periodontal certificate from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986 and his orthodontic certificate from New York University in 1988. He has authored numerous publications in dental literature; his pioneering work regarding the use of implants in conjunction with orthodontics is groundbreaking and has been extensively published. He has been involved in postgraduate teaching for over 20 years, is a recognized speaker nationally and internationally, and maintains a private practice in Manhattan. Dr. Celenza is a past president of the Northeastern Society of Periodontists.Dr. Celenza comes from a long line of distinguished dental practitioners. His father, Dr. Frank V. Celenza, was a world-renowned prosthodontist who made many inroads into international teaching and research while maintaining a large practice in Manhattan. Dr. Celenza’s brother, Vincent, now heads that practice and is active in teaching, and he was also a past president of the Northeastern Gnathological Society.
Dr. Celenza lives in New Jersey with his three children. He pursues other passions outside of dentistry, which include sports car racing (in which he is a two-time National Champion), competitive cycling (frequently commuting to work by bike), writing, and bass guitar.

Ioana was born in Romania and came to the U.S.A. in 1997. She attended medical school for five years in Romania, and moved into dentistry from there. Ioana was born in Romania and came to the U.S.A. in 1997. She attended medical school for five years in Romania, and moved into dentistry from there. She attained a degree in dental hygiene at New York University and has been practicing in dentistry for 19 years. Ioana is very experienced in the management of patients with periodontal issues, long-term maintenance, and the special needs of orthodontic patients. Ioana is a critical and untegral part of our practice. Outside of her profession, she is an avid skier (past Olympian!) and plays volleyball.
